Home Depot Visitors Craved To See Rescuers At Work

KICKING OFF FIRE PREVENTION WEEK – Hundreds of area residents flocked throughout Saturday (Oct. 6, 2012) to the parking lot of The Home Depot, Armand Hammer Boulevard, Lower Pottsgrove Township, to roam around and imagine themselves behind the wheels of fire trucks and other emergency rescue vehicles assembled there for the start of National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 7-13). Attracting the greatest attention (below) were demonstrations by fire companies on their use of the Jaws Of Life and other rescue tools during an automobile accident. Visitors to the show crowded the curbs and even sat upon the tops of some trucks (above) for the best view. The Ringing Hill and Sanatoga Fire companies have several related events scheduled during the week, including visits to Pottsgrove public and private schools to remind children of the need for fire safety.
