SANATOGA PA – Two public hearings – one to discuss a proposal to open a home-based hair salon business on South Park Road in Sanatoga; the second regarding the addition of in-law living quarters at a home on North Pleasant View Road – are scheduled by the Lower Pottsgrove Township Zoning Hearing Board for next Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2012) beginning at 6 p.m in the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd.
A legal advertisement announcing the hearings was published Monday (Oct. 8). The text of the notice follows:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with 250-226 of the Lower Pottsgrove Township Ordinance of 1973, as amended, (hereinafter, “Ordinance”) of Hearings before the Lower Pottsgrove Township Zoning Hearing Board on October 16, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Building, 2199 Buchert Road, Sanatoga, Pennsylvania on the following:
1. Application No. 2012-08 of Justin Wolf and Stacy Wolf, 219 S. Park Road, Pottstown, PA, (continued from September 18, 2012) owners of the property located in the Light Industrial District for the following relief from the Ordinance: A. Variance/Interpretation pursuant to 250-8, definition of “home-based business, low impact” to permit a hair salon at the premises; B. Special Exception pursuant to 250-21 C to permit a low-impact, home-based hair salon business as an accessory use to the dwelling; and C. Variance from 250-21 B (7) to permit a hair salon as an accessory use to the dwelling;
2. Application No. 2012-10 of William & Karen Schalles, 1928 Pleasantview Road, Sanatoga, PA, owners of the property located in the R-2 District for the following relief to permit the construction of a second story to an existing woodshop to be used as in-law quarters: A. Special Exception pursuant to 250-21 B (4) to permit temporary living quarters for relatives; and B. Certification of a non-conforming lot.
At the time of the Hearings any person or parties interested will be given full opportunity to be heard. The Board reserves the right to conduct such other business as may come before it.
