POTTSTOWN PA – The Pottsgrove School District will rely on the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to help develop its next comprehensive plan, a periodically created road map for its students’ educational future, for submission to the Pennsylvania Education Department.
The reason is simple, Acting Superintendent Shellie Feola explained last Tuesday (Oct. 9, 2012) during the Board of School Directors’ meeting: the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, of which Pottsgrove is a member, no longer offers planning assistance it needs.
The state agency explains that it regards multi-year comprehensive planning as a way to communicate and collaborate, promote shared practices and resources, and ensure that all stakeholders – including parents, taxpayers and the district’s related partners are “working toward common goals.”
Pottsgrove will pay the Bucks County agency $3,500 for its help, directors agreed.
