SANATOGA PA – “Now And Later, a series of 10 different workshops to prepare middle school students for their current and future lives, is the theme of the 16th annual Build Up Youth Leadership Conference being planned by the non-profit TriCounty Community Network for Nov. 8 (2012; Thursday) from 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Berean Conference Center, 2675 E. High St., Pottstown PA.

The workshops will cover banking basics, social networking, safe dating, protecting the environment, healthy lifestyles, giving back to your community, drug and alcohol abuse, stress management, important questions answered, and entering the workforce.
After breakout sessions, students also can participate in team-building activities. Additionally, the conference will feature a movie presentation that reinforces several points to be made during the workshops. There will also be a Resource Fair for After-School Programs for students.
Conference attendance is free as part of the Pottstown PA network’s mission to improve health, social and environmental conditions in western Montgomery, northern Chester and eastern Berks counties. Schools or parents interested in having children participate should call 610705-3301.
Network members, which include The Post Publications LLC, collaborate in providing six key programs: Build Up Youth, CARE (Caring in Alternative Residential Environments), Environmental Awareness, Homeless Services, SAFE (Supporting Abuse Free Environments), and Workforce Development. TCN’s offices are located at 260 High St., Pottstown.
