SANATOGA PA – A memorial service and candlelight vigil for Timothy Paciello, the 16-year-old Pottsgrove High School student who was killed Monday (Nov. 12, 2012) in an vehicle-pedestrian accident on East High Street at Sunnyside Avenue, is being planned for Friday afternoon (Nov. 16), Pottsgrove School District officials announced on its website.
A brief assembly honoring Paciello’s life is scheduled to start Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Radel Auditorium of the high school, Kauffman Road. It will be followed by the lighting of candles in the band entrance parking lot, the announcement said. Participants are being asked to briong their own candles for the vigil, and to wear something purple-colored for the event. The observeance is planned to end at 5:30 p.m.
Parking for participants will be available in the school’s rear parking lot, behind the band entrance, it added.
Lower Pottsgrove police, Montgomery County detectives, the county district attorney, and the Philadelphia medical examiner’s office all are continuing their investigations into the accident, which occurred Monday shortly before 9 p.m. Paciello reportedly was crossing East High after leaving the nearby home of a friend and was struck by a westbound pickup truck driven by a Collegeville woman. Police described her as “cooperative” in the investigation.
Paciello was a member of the high school wrestling team, enjoyed music, and played guitar. Funeral services had not been announced as of Wednesday night (Nov. 14).
