SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNIZES BAND ACHIEVEMENT – Dozens of Pottsgrove High School Marching Band members, other students and parents filled the high school cafeteria Tuesday night as the district Board of School Directors and Acting Superintendent Shellie Feola honored the band for its recent capture of its division’s state championship during the 2012 Cavalcade of Bands competition in Hershey PA. Board members officially voted to buy band members championship jackets, as they have done in the past for team champs in other sports. The crowd applauded wildly with the vote. Board President Scott Fulmer, top at left, and Band Director Victor Holladay, held the Cavalcade trophy plaque aloft to be admired by those in attendance. Then Holladay, bottom at right, and district Athletic Director Gary DeRenzo, shook hands as they unfurled the championship banner that will hang in the band room at the high school, 1301 Kauffman Rd., Pottstown PA. “All your hard work paid off,” Fulmer told band members in admiration. “All the hours you spent during the summer out on that hot asphalt parking lot at the high school paid off. You nailed your performance, and we’re very proud of you.”
