Three From PMSI Medical Offices Volunteer Overseas

POTTSTOWN PA – Three employees of Pottstown Medical Specialists Inc. (PMSI), headquartered in Lower Pottsgrove Township at 1610 Medical Dr., will pack their bags and head overseas during January to provide volunteer care for residents of Guatemala and Honduras.

Three From Local Medical Offices Volunteer Overseas

Bingener, Harrison, and Grieser

Dr. Keith Harrison of PMSI’s Bally office and Dr. Kenneth Bingener of its Boyertown office will arrive Jan. 5 (2013) in Guatemala City and then travel to medical clinics at Tierra Blanca and Chiguaton, the company said. Rhonda Grieser, a physician assistant at its Stowe office, will offer similar medical aid in Honduran villages, it added.

Schools in the area of Guatemala at which Harrison and Bingener will practice reportedly are expected to close when the pair arrives, allowing families and children with medical needs to be seen promptly. The doctors are receiving logistical support from First Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg PA and East Falls Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. They should return to the U.S. by Jan. 12.

Grieser, who is part of a team for the Honduran visit, is bringing clothes and toys to distribute there.

Members of the public interested in supporting their efforts can donate vitamins and over-the-counter cough and cold medicines at either the Bally or Boyertown offices for Harrison and Bingener to distribute; or donate clean and new or lightly used toys and clothing at the Stowe office for Grieser’s use. Donations should be made by Monday (Dec. 17, 2012).

PMSI’s Bally Medical Group is located at 1315 Route 100, Barto PA. Its Boyertown Medical Associates is at 23 N. Walnut St., Boyertown PA. Its Stowe Family Practice is at 555 Glasgow St., Stowe PA.
