SANATOGA PA – The routine and sometimes mundane, but nonetheless necessary, business of conducting annual audits of financial transactions in Lower Pottsgrove Township government will increase in cost by about 3 percent during 2013, the township Board of Commissioners recently reported.
Commissioners have authorized the Boyertown PA accounting firm of Reinhart And Company, which has conducted Lower Pottsgrove audits for several years, to again perform the work for the year ending Dec. 31 (2012; Monday).
Reinhart will charge $10,600 for the township audit, up $300 (2.9 percent) over last year; $1,695 for the tax collector audit, up $50 (3 percent); and $1,825 each of audits of the Sanatoga and Ringing Hill fire companies, the costs of which are unchanged.
If the auditors adhere to their schedule of years past, their work likely will be completed by February, with reports reviewed by commissioners during June.
