POTTSTOWN PA – Pottsgrove Middle School Assistant Principal Dr. David Ramage will fill in as chief operating officer at Ringing Rocks Elementary School, 1401 Kauffman Rd., until the school’s new leader can be approved, Pottsgrove School District Superintendent Shellie Feola said Thursday (Jan. 10, 2013).
Feola, responding to an e-mail inquiry from The Post, said Ramage will provide “consistency in leadership at Ringing Rocks until an identified interim principal is hired to begin working daily. As a district,” she added, “we are comfortable and confident with this transition, particularly as Dr. Ramage knows our systems, structures, staff and many of our families.”
Ramage will be stepping in, if only for a few weeks, for former Ringing Rocks Principal Michelle Bozzini. Bozzini, it was announced Wednesday (Jan. 9), would be absent from the position, although circumstances of or reasons for her departure have not been made public by Feola or the Board of School Directors. Feola, in a Wednesday letter to school parents and staff members, said she expected an interim principal would be appointed during the board’s Jan. 22 meeting, and be on site in the last week of the month.
Feola pick for Bozzini’s replacement, a woman, has not been identified by name. She has apparently accepted, however, predicated upon directors’ approval. The superintendent on Wednesday described her as “recently retired from a neighboring district. She is very experienced and enthusiastic at the opportunity to work with the positive and creative staff and students at Ringing Rocks.”
Ramage arrived at Pottsgrove during October 2008 as the district’s supervisor of secondary education and assessment. He became assistant principal at the middle school in August 2009, and previously was coordinator of technology and staff development in the Souderton (PA) Area School District. He also serves as an adjunct professor for masters and doctoral programs at the Drexel University School of Education.
