Police Arrest Philadelphian In Alleged Sanatoga Assault

Police Arrest Philadelphian In Alleged Sanatoga AssaultSANATOGA PA – A 24-year-old man whose last known address was in Philadelphia was arrested late Wednesday night (Jan. 9, 2013) by Lower Pottsgrove Township Police, after allegedly assaulting a woman who was 9-months pregnant and living in the Rolling Hills apartment complex on Buchert Road.

Aaron L. Anthony Murray, last of East Clearfield Street, Philadelphia, has been charged with burglary, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and related charges in connection with the incident, Ofc. David Slothower reported.

Police said they were called Wednesday at about 7:25 p.m. to the woman’s Rolling Hills home  on a report of a domestic altercation. Officers arrived and determined she had been assaulted, Slothower said, by a man identified to them as Murray. He had left the area, Slothower added, before police arrived.

Almost two hours later, at 9:12 p.m., police were called back to the same location on a report that Murray had allegedly “broken in the rear door to the house and was inside” with the victim and three children, all younger than age 3, Slothower said. Again, he was reported to have fled before officers arrived, but they later found Murray walking in the area and took him into custody.

Murray was arraigned Thursday (Jan. 10) before Magisterial District Justice Edward Kropp Sr., with bail set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 17. He was taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville.
