SANATOGA PA – The latest meeting agenda available Monday (Feb. 25, 2013) as of 5 a.m. for the Lower Pottsgrove Planning Commission is dated “July 16, 2012.” Yes, that’s a holdover from eight months ago.
Although it’s been awhile since planning commissioners gathered to formally conduct business at the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., township Assistant Manager Alyson Elliott last week told the Board of Commissioners they are scheduled to meet tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m.
That could change, of course, as it has regularly in recent months. A slow economy has meant sluggish real estate activity. Because changes in land use are the commissioners’ stock-in-trade, there’s little for planners to review if no new uses are proposed. Many of their meetings have been canceled as a result.
But the economy is picking up. Long-dormant housing subdivisions are being looked at again by contractors, and that alone can be cause for planers to reunite. Assuming tonight’s meeting is held, it is free and open to the public. You might even find an updated agenda for it at the township website, here.
