‘Boom’ Goes Bust, As Pottstown Cancels July Fireworks

POTTSTOWN PA – A lack of substantial financial support has forced the cancellation of Pottstown’s July 2013 Independence Day fireworks display, as well as almost all activities conducted in Memorial Park, The (Pottstown PA) Mercury reported Sunday (Feb. 24, 2013).

A Fourth Of July parade is still being planned, so long as the non-profit committee organizing the event can raise $20,000. it added.

Forget the Parade and push for a couple of days of vendors and rides in the Park. I’ve contributed annually but even I think $20,000.00 is to much for a parade.

Sad to see a Pottstown tradition ending, but so much is coming to a close with our wonderful booming economy and all the business and enterprises growing in Pottstown … TIC
