‘Grove OKs Spring Sports Coaches’ Supplemental Pay

Pottsgrove OKs Spring Sports Coaches' Supplemental PayPOTTSTOWN PA – Twenty-eight different individuals will collectively be paid more than $94,000 to coach spring sports for the Pottsgrove School District, the Board of School Directors agreed last Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2013).

Directors unanimously approved the list of supplemental and special payments recommended by Superintendent Shellie Feola.

The names of those to be paid, the sports they will coach, and the amounts they will receive are:

  • Rick Royce, assistant, 7th grade boys baseball, $2,651;
  • Nick Petro, assistant, high school boys baseball, $3,227;
  • George Gantert, assistant, high school boys baseball, $3,066;
  • Steve Palladino, 8th grade boys baseball, $3,066;
  • Rich Ashburn, head coach, high school boys baseball, $4,536;
  • Ashley Mazzie, assistant, high school girls lacrosse, $3,227;
  • Theresa Kegel, assistant, high school girls lacrosse, $3,227;
  • Ryan Michaels, assistant, high school boys lacrosse, 2,919;
  • Brian Artim, assistant, high school boys lacrosse, $3,227;
  • Gloria Fritz, head coach, middle school lacrosse, $3,528;
  • Brandy Scherer, assistant, middle school lacrosse, $2,520;
  • Kristen Mayberry, head coach, high school girls lacrosse, $3,942;
  • Fred Michaels, head coach, high school boys lacrosse, $3,942;
  • Joe Greene, assistant, high school girls softball, $3,258;
  • Josh Ford, assistant, high school girls softball, $3,066;
  • Danette Baum, 7th grade softball, $2,293.50;
  • Mallory Green, head coach, girls high school softball, $4,536;
  • Tom Bailey, 8th grade softball, $3,528;
  • Mary Ellen Wilson, assistant, high school boys tennis, $876;
  • Gus Tellis, head coach, high school boys tennis, $4,032;
  • Charles Yohn, assistant, high school girls track, $3,528;
  • Kevin Grimm, assistant, high school boys track, $3,528;
  • Mike Romeo, assistant, high school boys track, $3,528;
  • Eric Engstrom, assistant, middle school track, $2,772;
  • Ken Ivory, assistant, middle school track, $2,535.50;
  • Frank Scaltrito, head coach, girls high school track, $4,536;
  • Larry Rechtin, head coach, high school boys track, $4,536; and
  • Marilyn Eaton, head coach, middle school track, $3,528.

Of those listed, Petro, Gantert, Ashburn, Mazzie, Michaels, Artim, Mayberry, Michaels, Joe Greene, Ford, Mallory Greene, Wilson, Tellis, Yohn, Grimm and Ivory are not faculty members, the district noted.
