Township Acknowledges 'Grove Cross-Country Feat

THANKS FOR A PARTICULARLY SPEEDY SEASON – Lower Pottsgrove commissioners and state Rep. Mark Painter joined forces Monday (March 4, 2013), as part of the township board’s regular meeting, to pay tribute to the Pottsgrove boys cross-country team. During their just-completed season, its members brought a state championship home for the first time in team history. Coach Larry Rechtin, above at center, was presented with an award from commission President Jonathan Spadt, left, and with a copy of a celebratory legislative resolution submitted by Painter, right, and approved by the state House of Representatives. Team members in attendance at the ceremony, below, were all smiles; each got their own copy of the resolution, which identified them individually by name.
