Local Artist’s Civil War Exhibit Comes To Reading

READING PA – The history of the Civil War comes alive this spring with an exhibit at the Reading Public Museum, Allentown television station WFMZ-TV reported Tuesday (March 12, 2013).

Nearly 30 paintings, etchings and sketches by renowned historical artist Mort Künstler will be on display in an exhibit titled “Remembering the Battle of Gettysburg: The Civil War Art of Mort Künstler” at the museum, 500 Museum Rd.

The exhibit commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. It opens April 26 (2013; Friday) in the museum’s American Gallery, with a book signing and lecture by the artist, and runs through July 28. The opening reception costs $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Reservations are required; call 610-371-5850 Ext. 223.
