SANATOGA PA – It’s not just a hunt, it’s a scramble!
The annual Easter Egg Scramble for goodie-filled plastic eggs, conducted by the Lower Pottsgrove Township Parks and Recreation Department, is scheduled to be held Saturday (March 23, 2013) beginning at 10 a.m. in Gerald Richards Park on Buchert Road, the township announced Friday (March 15) on its website and in the new online edition of its “Lower Pottsgrove Township Ledger” newsletter.
Bunny Hop races are planned, too. The races are intended for 5-6 and 7-8 year-olds, and they’ll begin earlier, at abut 9:30 a.m. No advance registration is required for either event, but the township encourages parents to arrive early so kids can “stake out their spot.”
To ensure all ages get a good chance at scoring some of the treasure the Easter Bunny is sure to leave behind on the fields at Richards, the scramble is staged in four different divisions. The 2-year-olds will start at 10 a.m.; 3-4 year-olds at 10:10; 5-6 year-olds at 10:20; and 7-8 year-olds at 10:25. Sorry, parents, but there’s no older-than-age-20 division for you.
It may be cold, despite Mother Nature’s best efforts to usher spring in, so children should be dressed for the weather.
The newsletter in which the scramble announcement appeared was mailed only days ago with Lower Pottsgrove’s trash bills, and also was posted on the web as a 2-page Adobe Acrobat document. It lists other upcoming dates of interest:
the Police Department Trout Rodeo on April 27 (Saturday),
its Bike Rodeo on May 25 (Saturday),
the township Fishing Derby at Sanatoga Lake on June 15 (Saturday),
Sunday summer concerts at the Sanatoga Park band shell beginning June 23, and
