NORRISTOWN PA – Students from the Pottsgrove, Pottstown and Methacton school districts were among those showing off their computer savvy Monday (March 18, 2013) during the annual Pennsylvania High School and Middle School Computer Fair held at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, 1605 W. Main St., MCIU Communications Director Kristen Rawlings said.
More than 30 projects were entered in six categories, including animation, logo design, web page design, graphic design, digital movie, and programming. Students in grades 9-12 in a public or private middle school, high school or approved home school were eligible. The unit organized and hosted judging for the competition, which highlights application skills and computer knowledge.
The “great event … allows students to unleash their creativity, learn how to convey information more dynamically, and enhance their technology skills,” said Gail Kennedy, MCIU director of technology and information services. Students selected as winners Monday will advance to a May 21-22 state competition at Dickinson College.
Also competing were participants from the Colonial, Hatboro-Horsham, Lower Merion, Norristown, and Upper Dublin districts.
