POTTSTOWN PA – Pottsgrove High School’s student cheering section won generally high praise last year (2012) for being among the most enthusiastic, most entertaining, and most well-behaved sports fans in the Pioneer Athletic Conference. Now it’s won something else as well: sponsorship.
The Pottsgrove Board of School Directors on Tuesday (March 26, 2013) approved a contract with Market Street Sports of Lancaster PA to have Tilly’s, a national retailer of what it calls “action sports” clothing, shoes and accessories aimed at teens and those in college, sponsor the student section in both the gymnasium and the stadium.
The agreement is worth $9,000 over a two-year period, according to the board’s meeting highlights newsletter, issued via e-mail Tuesday night at about 11 pm.
Tilly’s operates a store at Providence Town Center, Collegeville PA, which opened in November 2012.
Market Street has been successful during recent years in attracting several thousands of dollars to Pottsgrove with naming sponsorships of facilities like its gym, tennis courts, ball fields and others, as well as educational and service programs. With the company’s assistance, the district has sponsorship relations with the Tri-County Area Federal Credit Union, Mishock Physical Therapy and Associates, Hallman Retirement Neighborhoods, and Manor Care Health Services.
