Township Zoning Board To Consider New Brookside Sign

POTTSTOWN PA – Brookside Family Restaurant on North Charlotte Street, one of Lower Pottsgrove’s frequently visited dining spots, plans to update its existing sign with something new and flashier to catch the eyes of passers-by. Its owners will need approval of the township Zoning Hearing Board to do so, however.

The board has scheduled an open-to-the-public hearing for July 16 (2013; Tuesday) at 6 p.m. in the municipal building to discuss the sign and variances required to replace it. A notice advertising the hearing date was published Monday (July 8). Its contents appear below:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with 250-226 of the Lower Pottsgrove Township Ordinance of 1973, as amended, (hereinafter, “Ordinance”) of a Hearing before the Lower Pottsgrove Township Zoning Hearing Board on July 16, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Building, 2199 Buchert Road, Sanatoga, PA on Application No. 2013-05 of Brookside Family Restaurant, 1338 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA, owner of the property located in the Commercial Office Zoning District for the following relief to permit the replacement of an existing sign: A. Appeal of the Zoning Officer’s Decision dated June 19, 2013; B. Variance from 250-198E to permit the replacement of an existing, legally, nonconforming sign; C. Variance from 250-195 (A)(11)(f) to permit an electronic sign; D. Variance from 250-196 to permit a maximum sign area of 113.5 total square feet and sign height of 22′ 6″, which exceeds that permitted by the Ordinance; and E. Certification of an existing non-conforming use.

At the time of the Hearing any person or parties interested will be given full opportunity to be heard. The Board reserves the right to conduct such other business as may come before it.
