SANATOGA PA – The annual statewide Preservation Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Awards will be presented during a Friday (Sept. 27, 2013) luncheon hosted from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in a venue that itself is known for the scope of its own preservation work … historic Sunnybrook Ballroom at 50 Sunnybrook Rd.
An advance report on the luncheon was published Wednesday (Sept. 25) by Lehigh Valley Business. It said a design team from USA Architects in Easton would be among four Greater Lehigh Valley recipients of 21 awards to be offered. The team is scheduled to receive Preservation Pennsylvania’s industrial construction project award for its work to refurbish The Stock House at SteelStacks in Bethlehem PA as a regional visitor center.
Preservation Pennsylvania describes itself as the state’s only private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of historically and architecturally significant resources.
Sunnybrook for decades was the site of big band concerts, ballroom dancing events and fine dining. A team of volunteers and a variety of fund-raising efforts helped resurrect the complex in recent years as a meeting, convention and entertainment center.
