POTTSTOWN PA – The Pottsgrove High School Marching Band earned a second-place finish in their Liberty Division on Saturday night (Oct. 5, 2013) during the annual Owen J. Roberts High School Cavalcade of Bands competition. The Falcons scored 80.85 points, only slightly less than first-place finisher Marple-Newtown High School, with 84.85, according to scoring from the Cavalcade Of Bands Association Inc.
Marple-Newtown also won the percussion and auxiliary awards. Placing third in the division was Soudertown High School, with 79.15 points, ad fourth was Pottstown High School, with 78.80 points.
Also Saturday, Phoenixville High School placed second in the competition’s American Division, with 79.5 points, and earned the percussion award. Boyertown High School placed first in the Yankee Division with 84.65 points, and won both its auxiliary and percussion awards. Host Owen J. Roberts scored 83.40 points for its exhibition.
Pottsgrove is next scheduled to appear in the Upper Moreland High School cavalcade show on Saturday (Oct. 12, 2013) in Willow Grove PA.
