READING PA – National grocery retailer Aldi Inc. – which operates 1,200 stores in 32 states, including its Lower Pottsgrove Township store on Armand Hammer Boulevard – will interview manager trainee candidates in what it calls a “hiring event” for southeastern Pennsylvania next Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2013) from 3-7 p.m. in its store at 1010 Cedar Top Rd., Reading.
The company said it planned “continued growth” and intended to expand “grocery retail options in the market” by seeking managers for stores in Pottstown, Reading and Allentown. Manager trainees earn a starting salary of $52,000 annually, based on a 40-hour work week, and the job can lead to a store manager position, it said.
Candidates must be 18 years or older to apply, hold a high school diploma or GED, be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., preferably have both retail and management experience, pass drug screening and background checks, and be able to lift 45 pounds.
Aldi claims a customer base of more than 25 million customers each month, primarily from Kansas to the East Coast.
