Pottsgrove Graduate Completes His Army Basic TrainingPOTTSTOWN PA – U.S. Army Pvt. Harris R. Tillman Jr., a 2012 graduate of Pottsgrove High School, has completed basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia SC, the Joint Hometown News Service reported Friday (Nov. 1, 2013)

During nine weeks of training, Tillman Jr. studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. He also received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Tillman is the son of Harris Tillman Sr. of Pottstown.
