In The Pink! Pottsgrove High Cancer Effort Raises $707

HOW PINK BECOMES GREEN – Pottsgrove High School’s Pink-Out fund-raising efforts in October to raise cancer awareness and benefit the Cancer Center at Phoenixville Hospital brought in a total of $707, Athletic Director Gary DeRenzo, left, announced last Tuesday (Nov. 12, 2013) during the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors’ meeting. The school chapter of the National Honor Society donated $500 from the sale of Pink-Out labeled shirts, and another $207 came from a variety of Pottsgrove Football Club and cheerleader sales and collections at the Falcons’ Oct. 3 football game against Owen J. Roberts. Pink-Out, at which Pottsgrove players don an assortment of pink-colored gear for their game – everything from gloves to footwear – has become an annual tradition. Accepting the donations on behalf of the center was board member and cancer survivor Patti Grimm.
