SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove’s annual tax rates on earned income, real estate transfers and other items – what are officially known as “Act 511 taxes” but are more commonly called “nuisance taxes” – will remain unchanged during 2014 as part of the township’s annual budget. Its adoption will be considered Thursday (Dec. 19, 2013) during the Board of Commissioners’ year-end wrap-up meeting, according to a legal advertisement published last Wednesday (Dec 11).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, will hold a public meeting on December 19, 2013, at 7:00 P.M. in the Lower Pottsgrove Township Municipal Building, 2199 Buchert Road, Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, to consider the adoption of a proposed resolution as follows: RESOLUTION #344-32 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF LOWER POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA TO ESTABLISH THE RATES FOR THE FOLLOWING ACT 511 TAXES FOR 2014 AT THE SAME RATES AS THE PREVIOUS YEAR.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Lower Pottsgrove Township that the rates for the above taxes for 2014 shall be:
Per Capita Tax shall be Five Dollars ($5.00)
Real Estate Transfer Tax shall be One percent (1%)
Earned Income Tax shall be One percent (1%)
Local Services Tax ($52.00)
The estimated revenues from these taxes are as follows: Per Capita – $33,500. Real Estate Transfer – $170,000. Income – $1,650,000. Local Services – $145,000. The tax revenues shall be used as permitted by law. This resolution shall become effective January 1, 2014.
A complete copy of the proposed resolution may be examined at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Municipal Building, 2199 Buchert Road, Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, during normal business hours from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
