Power Failure? For Township, It's No Longer A Problem

NOW THE POWER’S ALWAYS ON – It’s taken about a year from approval to installation, and more than $50,000 of taxpayer money, but Lower Pottsgrove‘s need for an emergency electrical generator is now fulfilled. The generator, which provides backup power to the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., when the normal energy supply fails was installed, tested and put into service late last month (November 2013). The building was constructed without a generator, and the police department- located on the first floor – later relied upon portable gas powered units during storms and other outages. The new installation is specifically sized to meet the needs of both the department and the remainder of the building. No one happier about the generator’s arrival than its chief proponent of many years, township Board of Commissioners’ Vice President Bruce Foltz.
