Township Collects 2,700+ Pounds In Its Food Drive

DELIVERING YOUR DONATIONS – Thanks to residents in Lower Pottsgrove and their neighbors, the township’s Christmas food drive to benefit the pantry at the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities collected more than 2,700 pounds of donated items, in cans, boxes and bags of all shapes and sizes, Manager Ed Wagner reported Monday (Dec. 23, 2013). Collection boxes were set up in the lobby of the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Sanatoga, and at its police station one floor below. The generosity of the response has prompted the township to make the drive an annual event, Wagner added. Among those helping to make the delivery to the Cluster were, from left, police Sgt. Timothy Walters, Wagner, public works employee Chad Davis, incoming Commissioner Shawn Watson and his daughter, Alexia, and public works employee Tom Palatucci.
