POTTSTOWN PA – Slippery – almost greasy – road conditions, multiple inches of snow everywhere, and the threat of frostbite-causing, wind chill-induced temperatures between 2 and 4 degrees prompted all three area school districts to close their doors today (Friday, Jan. 3, 2014).

The Pottsgrove, Pottstown and Spring-Ford Area schools all are closed for the day. Most of their Thursday night activities were canceled by 5 p.m., and are similarly postponed.

National Weather Service projections said portions of Montgomery County expected between 3 and 8 inches of overnight snow accumulation.
