County Caravan's First Stop To Be Lower Pottsgrove

The municipal building in warmer temperatures

SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove Township’s municipal building will be the first stop this year on the second annual “Conversations With Your Commissioners” sessions being conducted throughout February by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. The event is free and open to the public.

The township will play host to the heads of county government Feb. 6 (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in the building’s conference room, 2199 Buchert Rd., Manager Ed Wagner announced during the Lower Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners’ meeting last Thursday (Jan. 23).

The initial town-hall-on-wheels meeting conducted by county commissioners last year “was extremely well-attended and gave residents of the county the opportunity to discuss a wide range of subjects with the commissioners, county Communications Director Frank X. Custer said.

Five other sessions also are scheduled n the county caravan, for Feb. 8 (Saturday) in Abington, Feb. 10 (Monday) in Ambler, Feb. 15 (Saturday) in Bryn Mawr, Feb. 24 (Monday) in East Greenville, and Feb. 27 (Thursday) in Norristown. For more information, call the county commissioners’ office at 610-278-3062.

“These sessions are just another way we … keep residents informed about what we are doing,” Commissioner Chair Josh Shapiro said. “We live stream our meetings on line and use social media a great deal to inform everyone about what is going on in the county, but (these) conversations provide a true, personal level of contact the others do not.”

Shapiro said commissioners plan to use the meetings to review what the county administration has done during its first two years, and to outline its plans for its final two years.
