POTTSTOWN PA – Parents of any student in the Pottsgrove School District can learn more about their child’s mathematics programs- what they’re expected to learn, how teachers instruct, and why – in separate, grade-specific “Math Night” sessions during the next three weeks.
A high school and middle school program is scheduled for next Monday (Feb. 24, 2014) from 7-8 p.m. in the high school library, Kauffman Road. Principal Bill Ziegler reports the meeting “will walk parents through what math looks like at the middle and high school … led by teachers, students, and principals. It is an informative and interactive session on our math curriculum and teaching strategies.”
Parking at the high school will be available either at the front of the school or in the gym lot.
A review of the Everyday Math Programs in Ringing Rocks and Lower Pottsgrove elementary schools will be held March 5 (Wednesday) from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary on Buchert Road. Parents can interact with teachers, see the program at work, practice student math algorithms, and use the parent web portal.
A similar meeting for parents at West Pottsgrove Elementary, Grosstown Road, Stowe, will be held March 13 (Thursday), also from 6:30-7:45 p.m.
