POTTSTOWN PA – Local social media reviewers proclaimed Thursday night’s opening of “Grease,” the musical being staged at Pottsgrove Middle School, was a smash hit. Which means, with the first performance under their belts, shows scheduled for tonight (Friday, Feb. 28, 2014) and Saturday (March 1), both at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium at 1351 N. Hanover St., are likely to be even better.
General admission tickets cost $6 and are available at the door. They also can be purchased from cast members, and middle school music teacher Carole Bean by calling 610-326-8243.
The 1970s hit show looks 20 years back, to the rock-n-roll ’50s, when local boy Danny Zuko and vacationing Sandy Olsson meet at the beach and fall in love. The Pottsgrove cast involves dozens of students who sing and dance their way through popular and well-known tunes that made the original show irresistible.
- Members of the cast gave a short performance during the Feb. 11 meeting of the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors. Hear their voices and see their moves in the embedded videos, above and below, or watch them at The Post’s Tout channel, here.
