Municipal Building Not A Fortress, But Now More Secure

LOOKS LIKE A BANK TELLER’S WINDOW – Several new security features have now been installed at the Lower Pottsgrove municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Sanatoga, including thick and sturdy, bank teller-like windows at the office front counter. Township staffers in years past have dealt with an occasional unhappy resident or delinquent taxpayer, and the open counter exposed them to potential harm, township Secretary Michele Cappelletti said. The counter window, which fills the entire formerly open space, helps prevent such an occurrence. Additionally, new card-activated locking systems were installed on some doors, replacing former keypads; and new multi-camera monitoring devices were placed throughout the building and in exterior locations as well. Most of the work was completed in late February.
