POTTSTOWN PA – 1960s’ pop music legend and organ transplant recipient Bobby Rydell says he owes his life to the generosity of others, and wants to return their favors in kind.
Rydell is the headliner for a March 29 (2014; Saturday) concert in Pottstown that will promote and benefit the Gift Of Life Donor Program in Philadelphia. Rydell has received two organ donations, and is a spokesman for Gift of Life.
The day also has been designated “Bobby Rydell Organ Donor Awareness Day” by Pottstown Mayor Sharon Valentine-Thomas. The show, which starts at 6 p.m. in the Davenport Performing Arts Center, 750 N. Washington St., also features The Duprees, and the First Ladies Of Rock And Soul.
