POTTSTOWN PA – A fight between two students that broke out Friday morning (March 21, 2014) during an early lunch period at Pottsgrove High School, 1345 Kauffman Rd., “required intervention” by administrators and a Lower Pottsgrove Township police officer but was quickly contained, Principal Dr. Bill Ziegler said.
Ziegler notified parents of high school students about the “physical altercation” by e-mail shortly after the incident.
He acknowledged the event “disrupted the lunch for a short period of time,” but by 11:56 a.m. – the time the e-mail was sent – “all (was) back to normal,” Ziegler added.
School staff members and Ofc. Wil James from the township department, who serves as the school resource officer, separated the students and ended the fight. No explanation was offered as to what or who provoked it. The students were not identified in any way, and there was no mention of what, if any, disciplinary action would result.
Ziegler encouraged concerned parents to contact him and offered to their questions by phone, 610-960-2386; or e-mail, here.
