POTTSTOWN PA – A community outreach effort intended for families with young children, and designed to make them aware of locally available services and resources, is scheduled for April 12 (2014; Saturday) from 1-3 p.m. in the Pottstown YMCA, 724 N. Adams St.
Planned activities include a petting farm, clowns and mascots, games for families and children, and representation by more than 40 helpful agencies. The event is free and open to the public. It is being organized by PEAK, Pottstown’s school readiness program, and Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
The Month of the Young Child activity is also supported by the Pottstown Rotary Club Community Endowment Fund, which is providing money for the purchase and distribution of 400 copies of a featured book. PEAK has additionally received donations from Wegman’s and Costco.
