Police Arrest Township Man For Alleged Shoplifting

Police Arrest Township Man For Alleged ShopliftingSANATOGA PA – A 29-year-old Lower Pottsgrove resident was arrested by township police and charged with misdemeanor retail theft, criminal trespass and public drunkenness after he allegedly stole merchandise March 30 (2014; Sunday) at about 10:41 p.m. from the CVS Pharmacy, 1833 E. High St.

Ofc. Scott Weidenhammer reported police were called to CVS, where the store supervisor told them there was an incident of “shoplifting in progress.” The supervisor said a man later identified as Robert Pagnotta, of the 1700 block of Rosewood Court, “was observed concealing candy that the store had displayed for sale,” and that he later attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.

Police made contact with Pagnotta, recovered the allegedly stolen merchandise, and also determined he was “intoxicated to a degree where he was a danger to himself and others,” Weidenhammer wrote. Pagnotta was placed into custody, charged, and transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA for processing, housing and arraignment.

Pagnotta had previously been banned from entering the CVS store, Weidenhammer added.
