SANATOGA PA – A 46-year-old Boyertown man was arrested Tuesday (April 15, 2014) at about 9:55 p.m. on a charge of driving under the influence, after Lower Pottsgrove police alleged he drove his vehicle into wooded property on North Charlotte Street.
Township Ofc. Matthew Kemp reported driver Randy Urban left the roadway near 2192 N. Charlotte, stuck a telephone pole and sheered it off at the base, and ended up in the wooded area. A caller alerted police to the accident, but the vehicle was unoccupied when it was found. Urban, who police claim was hiding in the woods, later returned to the scene.
North Charlotte was closed for several hours while a work crew from Verizon repaired the telephone pole, Kemp said.
