SOFTBALL TEAM WORKS BEHIND THE SCENES – It usually takes volunteers to accomplish good things, and that was the case again this month during the successful Lower Pottsgrove Township Parks and Recreation Easter egg hunt. Parks and Recreation secretary and municipal building receptionist Jennifer Griffith (top, at right) reports it was members of the Pottsgrove High School girls’ softball team (that’s three of them, at left, but many more were on hand) who helped supervise the action – and ensure no one got trampled in the mad rush for brightly colored eggs – at the annual hunt on a soccer field at Gerald Richards Park, Buchert Road. Team coach Julie Davis was in attendance, too. The volunteer effort wasn’t limited to outsiders. Members of the township Public Works Department and their families (below) arrived two hours earlier in the morning and donated their time to set up the dew-laden field before eggs were distributed.
