Armed Robber Takes $700 From Pottstown Register

POTTSTOWN PA – Police are looking for a male suspect, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds, who allegedly used a gun while robbing the Gulf gas station at 615 High St. on Sunday (May 18, 2014) at 11:15 p.m., according to a report from WFMZ-TV News.

Armed Robber Takes $700 From Pottstown RegisterThe man, who was wearing a mask at the time, threatened to shoot the clerk behind the counter if he interfered while taking about $700 from the station’s cash register. Surveillance video showed the clerk only minutes earlier had spotted the armed robber coming and tried to push him back, lock the doors and take his gun, but failed, WFMZ reported.

The robber forced the clerk near the cash register and managed to open it. Shortly after he left, a customer showed up and called police.

Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to contact the Pottstown Police Department.
