Police Called, No Victim Discovered In Railroad ReportPOTTSTOWN PA – Police from Lower Pottsgrove and Pottstown were called Saturday night (May 17, 2014) to Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks near the Home Depot store on Armand Hammer Boulevard to investigate whether a woman seen walking there had been hit by a passing train, but they found no signs of a victim, The (Pottstown PA) Mercury newspaper reported.

Mercury reporter Caroline Sweeney wrote that an employee on the train said he thought he’d heard a “thump” after he saw a woman on the tracks at about 6:30 p.m. Police called to the scene looked at the train but saw no indication a pedestrian had been struck, according to the report, and they found no body or other remains near the Moser Road overpass.

Calls to Norfolk Southern for comment went unreturned.
