SANATOGA PA – A Pottstown couple who allegedly held an in-car argument Tuesday night (July 1, 2014) at 6:50 p.m. on the corner of Heritage and Creekside drives was answering questions from Lower Pottsgrove police only a few minutes later, and for the individuals involved the verbal dispute may have been the least of their problems.
Taariq Paul and Basia Moreno, male and female (respectively) residents of the borough and both age 22, were arrested on narcotics-related charges, police report, and Paul also was picked up on an active warrant issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, they said. The nature of the warrant was not disclosed.
Ofcs. Kevin Black and Matthew Musselman responded to a dispatcher’s call regarding a disturbance at the intersection, which they said turned out to be Paul and Moreno exchanging words inside a red Ford sedan. During their investigation of the incident, police said, they learned of the outstanding warrant for Paul and took him into custody.
Then, during a search following his arrest, the officers allege they found Paul to possess a small amount of marijuana. The investigation later revealed Moreno possessed a small amount of marijuana too, they claimed.
Moreno will receive a summons to appear in court on her possession charge, police said. Because of the warrant, they added, Paul was transported to and held in the county correctional facility in Eagleville PA. He also was charged with possession.
