KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Daytime inspections are scheduled today (Monday, July 14, 2014) and Tuesday (July 15) on U.S. Route 422 bridges that cross the Schuylkill River near Pottstown and King of Prussia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced. 422 drivers are advised to allow more time for travel because slowdowns are likely, Community Relations Coordinator Charles Metzger said.
The work schedule calls for:
- The right lane to be closed Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on westbound Route 422 over the Schuylkill River in Lower Pottsgrove and North Coventry townships, and
- The right lane to be closed Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on westbound Route 422 on between the Route 23 and Route 363 interchanges in Upper Merion and West Norriton townships, Montgomery County, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Route 422’s eastbound right lane at the same bridge will be closed from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The upcoming inspections are part of PennDOT’s program to inspect state bridges at least once every two years to ensure their safety and condition of the bridges, Metzger said.
Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA, a state website that provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 700 traffic cameras.
