POTTSTOWN PA – Acceptance of a contract for “supervisory support” from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit to temporarily oversee special education activities in the Pottsgrove School District is scheduled to be proposed tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 12) to the Board of School Directors.
The school board agenda indicates the interim help will be used three days a week at a cost of $450 daily. District administrators announced June 30 assistance would be needed in the wake of the July 17 departure of Pottsgrove Special Education Supervisor Michelle MacLuckie. She resigned at the end of the last academic year, and a search has begun for her successor.
The meeting begins at 7:30 in the district office, 1301 Kauffman Rd., and is free and open to the public. A copy of the agenda is available for download from the district website, here.
Directors also are scheduled to discuss:
- A need to change orders for the reconstruction of Pottsgrove High School, already begun, as they relate to its environmentally friendly LEED Gold certification, as well as acceptance of quotes for the installation of projectors and security cameras there;
- Agreements to contract with several providers for special education consulting and services;
- Approval of the district’s annual busing contract with CMD Services of Pottstown; and
- Introduction of Superintendent Shellie Feola’s goals for the district and herself in the coming school year.
