A PARK AS HAYFIELD – Contractor Ryan Lehman has taken his first cutting of hay this year from the mowing of Lower Pottsgrove’s Pleasantview Park acreage at the corner of North Pleasant View and Bleim roads. The township and Lehman in July (2014) reached an agreement in which he will assume responsibility for clearing the field, and save costs incurred by the Highway Department. As compensation, he keeps the valuable hay (good for feeding animals, filling lofts, and using as bedding in a stall or cushions on a wagon ride, among other things). The hay was cut and baled last week, and sat in the field under the summer sun to lose some of its moisture. The bales were removed Monday (Aug. 18).
