Explore! Families Take Lower Up On Its Invitation

POTTSTOWN PA – Students who, in just five days, will begin classes at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School on Buchert Road joined their parents Tuesday (Aug. 19, 2014) on what was called a “self-guided tour and open house” at the building. Many of the kids had a chance to explore their classrooms and desks for the first time; many of the adults “talked shop” about getting ready for the big return to school.

Although Principal Yolanda Williams greeted all visitors at the front door, and was available to answer questions, she said the idea was to let parents and students alike roam the halls of the two-story school and become more familiar with its layout and facilities. Dozens of families took her up on the invitation.

Similar open houses were held Tuesday at Ringing Rocks and West Pottsgrove elementaries, as was a “welcome day” for incoming sixth grades at Pottsgrove Middle School.
