Coach Rick Pennypacker, center, and his family
POTTSTOWN PA – The man whose name is sure to be forever linked to the success of Pottsgrove High School football tonight (Friday, Aug. 29, 2014) will have the home field, on which so many of his teams played so many games, dedicated in his honor.
Ceremonies for the official naming of the stadium field behind the school at 1345 Kauffman Rd. as “Coach Rick Pennypacker Field” begin with a performance by the Falcons’ Marching Band at 5:20 p.m., in advance of the 5:30 p.m. game against Ben Franklin.
The event and the game, the first of Pennypacker’s 27th season, are anticipated to be very well attended. Parking will be at a premium, and maneuvering around construction at the high school may be a challenge. Those attending should plan to arrive early.
