POTTSTOWN PA – The 14th annual Pottsgrove School District Education Foundation 5-K Race and Kids’ Fun Run, all proceeds of which benefit district education programs in kindergarten through 12th grade, will be held Saturday (May 16, 2015) beginnnning at 9 a.m. from the Pottsgrove High School athletic stadium, 1345 Kauffman Rd. The event is open to the public; registration will be conducted from 8-8:45 a.m.

The slightly hilly neighborhood course is wheel-measured through streets that surround the stadium where it will begin and end. The Fun Run will immediately follow the 5-k, and parents are welcome to participate in it with their children.

Joining in the 5-K this year are members of the district PRIDE Fitness Program, who will use the race as their year-end event. Pottsgrove elementary and middle school students have worked for the past 7 weeks to run their first road race, and Saturday’s run represents the culmination of their goal.

A $20 per person entry fee will be charged to all participants except PRIDE participants. The fee includes a race T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded for male and female overall winners. Age group medals also will be presented to both male and female top finishers in grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12, and ages 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and older than 60.
