Township Police Apply For Bullet-Proof Vest Grant

SANATOGA PA – Replacing four bullet-proof vests for officers in the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department this year could become less expensive for taxpayers if it wins a federal grant to cover up to half the cost, according to Chief Michael Foltz.

lower pottsgrove township: Police Apply For Bullet-Proof Vest GrantThe department this spring again applied to the Office of Justice Programs’ Bulletproof Vest Partnership to help pay for the vests, Foltz reported, which are priced at between $900 and $1,000 each. Grant awards usually are announced during the fall.

The department won a similar grant in 2014, totaling $1,604. It was among six western Montgomery County departments to receive partnership funding last year.
