Arrgh! There Be Pirates Hunting In Sanatoga

Tri County Community Network Sends Kids On Quest

FINDING A GOOD TIME, THANKS TO TCN – Adults and children from across the greater Pottstown area arrived Saturday morning (June 6, 2015) at Berean Bible Church, 2675 E. High St. to join in the annual Treasure Hunt sponsored by the Tri County Community Network. The 2-1/2 hour activity sent kids (some of them dressed as pirates, above) and their adult guides out into the fields and surrounding trees to find what they could among lists of items. All learned more about the local environment as they enjoyed structured activities and games (below), earning prizes for what they found or accomplished. Several organizations like the Pottstown YMCA (bottom) were on hand to provide educational exhibits and information about their activities too. The network is a non-profit group that collaborates with other non-profits, municipal agencies, for-profit businesses and community members to improve local health, social and environmental conditions. Its committees on Environmental Health and Safety, and Youth Development planned and conducted the hunt. TCN’s next event is a conference intended to help non-profit organizations thrive; it’s scheduled for June 18 at Montgomery County Community College in Pottstown.
