SANATOGA PA – Smack your lips and savor the sweetness of the annual Strawberry Festival conducted by the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society, scheduled for Saturday (June 13, 2015) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of the society headquarters in Sanatoga Chapel, 2341 E. High St.
Admission is free; you’ll pay only for what you eat … and there promises to be plenty of that.
Topping the menu, of course, are ripe, succulent strawberries by the bowlful, accompanied by ice cream, and in other dessert treats. Lunch also will be served, including hot dogs and barbecue. A variety of baked goods will be available.
Beyond those, the festival also offers live entertainment from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., provided by the O’Such Rhythm and Music Band. Society volunteers will present slide shows featuring Sanatoga Park, Sanatoga Speedway, the 1976 Bicentennial Wagon Train encampment in Saylor’s field, and more inside the chapel.
Baseball legend and local resident Bobby Shantz will be on hand to meet and greet visitors. A basket raffle is scheduled.
The festival represents the society’s biggest fund-raiser.
